THE OLD SALOPIAN GOLFING SOCIETY
The Society holds around 20 meetings a year.
Membership enables leavers to play on some of the best courses across the UK, providing a great opportunity to meet up with friends who go different ways after Shrewsbury and to make new contacts.
Meetings are heavily subsidised for Old Salopians under 30 years of age. As examples, this year, two rounds of golf with lunch cost £45 at Muirfield, with many other meetings at £25 off.
The Society welcomes golfers with a handicap of 28 or less.
The annual subscription is £20.
An OSGS tie is available from the Honorary Secretary at £20.
In January each year, every member receives a Fasti card. This lists all the meetings and invites members to apply to play in meetings.
Our best golfers such as Jonathan Howse (R 98-03) off 3 handicap are selected to represent the Old Salopians in various inter-school competitions, such as the prestigious Halford Hewitt Cup, which we have won three times in recent years.
Founded in 1928, the Society has over 350 members, of whom around 80 are under 30 years of age.
